I’m Rinna, a native of the beautiful, rural Garo Hills of Northeast India. Learning to cook as a young child on crackling fires and with simple utensils, I was raised in a world where resourcefulness was key. With the limited meat and / or vegetables that we could source, we could still craft delicious and nutritious food.

In my teenage years, I left home in search of work. I found it doing what I do best, in a restaurant cooking a mix of curry styles. Skip forward a few years and my education continued in the bustling city of Mumbai. Always a cook until I married an Englishman in India from where we started a family. We have since moved to the UK and I have resumed my career.

At Tribal Curry, I channel my cultural principles of creating great food from a daily mix of whatever ingredients are available to prepare ‘village curry’ – the food that we love at home.
